Air National Guard Field Trip

September 14, 2011

Recently, 21 AFJROTC cadets from Dupo and Columbia High School, participated in an Air Force Orientation Flight aboard a KC-135 Stratotanker.  The cadets departed Scott Air Force Base, flew a refueling mission over Oklahoma City, refueled an Air Force B-52 Stratofortress Bomber, and then returned to Scott Air Force Base.  The cadets were invited by the 126th Air Refueling Wing, Illinois Air National Guard.  For many of the cadets, this was the first time they have ever flown in an airplane.
