“Shine Bright for a Cure” is our theme for Friday! Let's light up the school by wearing bright or neon colors to show support and spread hope. From glowing greens to vibrant pinks and yellows, this day is all about standing out for a great cause and reminding everyone that even small acts of support can shine a powerful light in the fight against cancer. This is also the day to return those filled yellow socks to your classroom/homeroom teacher!
Thank you so much for participating in our Sock it to Cancer campaign and helping bring awareness to childhood cancer. Your support makes a meaningful difference and shows the power of coming together for an important cause.

Thursday’s theme for Sock it to Cancer is “Strike Out Cancer!” Students are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing baseball-themed outfits or their favorite team gear. Thursday is all about stepping up to the plate in the fight against cancer and showing support for those affected.

Wednesday’s theme for Sock it to Cancer is “Hats Off to the Brave Fighting Cancer.” Students are invited to wear their favorite hat to school as a simple but powerful way to show respect and support for those courageously battling cancer!

Tuesday’s theme for Sock it to Cancer at Bluffview Elementary is “Friends Don’t Let Friends Fight Cancer Alone.” On this day, students are encouraged to show the power of friendship by matching with a friend or even a small group—whether it’s coordinating socks, colors, or outfits. It’s a fun and meaningful way to stand together, remind others they’re not alone, and show support for those impacted by cancer.

Bluffview Elementary is teaming up with the Kellsie’s Hope Foundation again this year from May 4th - May 8th for the inspiring "Sock it to Cancer" fundraiser. Students will receive the signature yellow socks to take home and fill with spare change to support this meaningful cause. To keep the energy high, Bluffview is hosting daily dress-up themes throughout the week, starting with a fun Crazy Sock Day on Monday. Last year, we raised an astonishing $4,877.97! It is a wonderful opportunity for the school community to come together, have some fun, and make a real difference in the fight against childhood cancer. Thank you for your support!

Yesterday we wrapped up our Adopt-a-Cow adventure with a LIVE chat featuring our favorite calf, Rizzo, and her bestie, Ivy! 🐮
A HUGE shoutout to Berning Acres Farm for the monthly updates on Rizzo’s growth and for teaching our students so much about the dairy industry along the way.
When Rizzo was born, she weighed just 85 pounds… and now she’s tipping the scales at nearly 500 pounds! Our students loved watching her grow over the past several months and learning all about life on the farm. 🥛🌾

Online Registration opens May 4th! Be sure to set your Communication Preferences in your TeacherEase app so you don’t miss any registration notices. You can also text START to (877) 305-9707 to receive text notifications from TeacherEase.

Disability Acceptance Week (3/23 to 3/27) – Let’s Start Important Conversations!
Next week our school will participate in a Disability Acceptance Spirit Week. Each day highlights a different condition and encourages students to wear something special to help spark conversations about understanding, inclusion, and kindness.
These small activities give families a great opportunity to talk with their children about how people may learn, move, communicate, or experience the world differently—and how we can all support one another.
