Mr. Griffin’s Business Principles & Management class took a field trip to the Economic Development Council and Alro Steel to see how real businesses operate. Students got an inside look at day-to-day operations and learned how companies manage things like just-in time inventory management systems, logistics, marketing, human resources, budgeting, project planning, and custom manufacturing.

The field trip tied directly into what they’ve been learning in class. It also gave students helpful ideas and real-world examples to use as they work on their final project: creating a full business plan.

They even got to dress up in construction uniforms during the visit, adding a hands-on, behind-the-scenes element that made the experience even more memorable.

"This was a great way for students to connect what they’re learning to actual careers and real-world companies,” said Mr. Griffin.

Students left the trip feeling more confident and prepared—not just for their class project, but also for their future goals in business and beyond.
