Students recently participated in a hands-on Career Exploration Project that allowed them to research future careers and host a mini Career Fair for their classmates. Working in small groups, students explored a variety of fields including healthcare, engineering, business, trades, tourism, and veterinary science.
As part of the project in Mr. Griffin's Career Exploration Class, each group researched key information about their assigned careers, such as job responsibilities, education requirements, salary ranges, skills needed, and work environments. They then designed creative career booths featuring flyers they created using Canva, and interactive elements like Kahoot quizzes and demonstrations.
During the career fair, students rotated from booth to booth, asked questions, and learned about careers they may not have considered before. Many discovered new interests—such as travel and tourism, system engineering, and veterinary technology—while others strengthened their commitment to careers they already planned to pursue, including welding, accounting, and social work.
To conclude the project, students reflected on what they learned about career opportunities, future planning, teamwork, and communication. Several students shared that the experience helped them understand how important collaboration is in nearly every career field.
This Career Fair allowed students to build essential skills, explore new possibilities, and take meaningful steps toward planning their futures—one career booth at a time.
