DUPO, IL — Dupo High School is gearing up for a historic milestone. This upcoming fall, the community will gather to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Dupo High School building. Constructed in 1926, the building has served as the heart of education, community pride, and Tiger spirit for a century.
While the school district itself predates the 1926 structure, the completion of the high school building marked a monumental turning point for local education—one that has stood the test of time. To honor this remarkable landmark, Dupo CUSD 196 is inviting students, alumni, faculty, and community members past and present to join in the centennial festivities.
The grand celebration will take place this fall on the front lawn of the high school, held directly prior to the annual Homecoming football game. Attendees can look forward to a vibrant community gathering celebrating a century of Tiger history before heading into the stadium to cheer on the team.
Preserving 100 Years of Memories In preparation for the event, the District is calling on the community to help tell the story of Dupo High School. A special digital memory collection form has been launched, allowing alumni and residents to share their favorite stories, photographs, and memories from their time in the building.
"The walls of Dupo High School hold a century's worth of friendships, triumphs, and community history," said Chrisi Aldridge, Assistant Principal. "We want to capture those voices and celebrate the generations of families who have walked these halls. We encourage everyone to share their piece of Dupo history and join us on the front lawn this fall to mark this incredible milestone."

The tentative date and time for the celebration is September 25, 2026 from 3:00-6:00pm, prior to Homecoming. Specific dates and times for the Homecoming game and pre-game centennial celebration will be released as the fall schedule is finalized.
