Art Appreciation: where we cram centuries of Art History into one wild semester… and still find time to make some seriously cool art. 🖌️

Ceramics I Studio Highlights!
We’ve wrapped up the building phase — now it’s time to glaze! Stay tuned to see these pieces come to life in the kiln!

JH Student Council Food Drive 11/12 - 11/21

Our talented 8th graders are showcasing their stunning Art Nouveau portraits—featuring intricate organized patterns brought to life with shimmering gold and silver scratch art.

🌀 Drawing 1 students will tell you - it all begins with a single circle…
and unfolds like a visual journey—each stroke adding depth, each detail revealing growth. Congratulations! Now it's time for descriptive value modeling.

My Drawing 1 students have recently experimented with Prismacolor pencil layering and blending techniques. Here are some lovely results of that color study.

PAWS - Perfect Attendance Welcomes Success
*Every week the office will compile a list of students who had perfect attendance for the previous week. Each of the students will be entered in the monthly drawing for a reward.
*Students can earn one entry every week for perfect attendance.
*Every month all students who have been entered in the PAWS attendance program will be up for the monthly award. All names will be entered in a randomizer and one student from each grade level (7th - 12th) will be drawn for the monthly prize of a personal pizza.
*The drawing will restart every month and we will follow the similar process.
*Each quarter grading period, there will be a prize awarded for perfect attendance. Each child who had perfect attendance for the entire quarter grading period will have his/her name placed in a drawing for the large 9-week prize.
*At the end of the school year a drawing will be held with students' names that have perfect attendance for the entire year. There will be a grand prize for this drawing.
Congratulations to the PAWS winners for the month of October! Enjoy your pizzas!

Today, a group of students got the opportunity to experience "A Day in the Trades - From blueprint to built!"
We toured a kitchen and bath remodeling company (and made our own tiles), 3 houses being built, and a home improvement store/warehouse. Thanks to JDS Construction and all the other organizations that created this event and invited Dupo to participate!

We had a blast at the Metro East Construction Expo today! Students were able to speak to a variety of tradesmen and women about their careers and try out job skills for themselves... real AND virtually!

Future electricians in the making! ⚡️ Dupo and Columbia electrical classes are leveling up their skills and learning the essentials: how to properly use and read a tape measure. Precision starts here!
