College and Military Fair Mark your calendars! On Thursday, October 27 from 5-7PM we will be hosting a College and Military Fair in the cafeteria. We will have representatives from 2 year and 4 year colleges, trade schools, and the military. Join us and learn about some of your opportunities for after high school. GSA/Diversity Club High School : The next GSA/Diversity Club meeting for high school students will be held on October 19th at 3pm in room 210. Come join us as we build a supportive community where everyone belongs. Jr. High Student Council Boo Grams will be on sale for 50 cents now until October 26th and will be delivered on Halloween. Look for Student Council members during guided advisory to purchase Boo Grams for your friends. Our next student council meeting is Wednesday, October 26th during guided advisory. High School Girls Basketball : There will be a high school girls basketball meeting in Mr Carpenter’s room, Thursday Oct 20 at the beginning of 7th hour for anyone interested in playing this season!. Bake Sale! Interested in devouring some yummy sweets this Halloween season?? For only $1 you can choose from a variety of desserts to eat during all lunch periods on Tuesday, Oct. 25th! Bowling Boys Bowling tryout will be Wednesday October 26th and Thursday October 27th at 3:30 at West Park Bowl in Columbia.

Junior High Cross Country: Congratulations to the junior high cross country team for finishing out their season at the State meet in DuQuoin last Saturday. 4 of the athletes competed and Carter Lumpkins and McCulloch Miller both earned medals by finishing in the top 50 out of 130 runners! Congratulations on a great ending to a great season! High School Cross Country : The high school cross country team competed at the Conference meet this past Saturday in Salem Illinois. 9 out of the 12 athletes that competed earned new PR times! 2 of the boys earned All-Conference honors in the Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division! Chris Sacayon finished 6th with a new PR time of 17:27 and Peter Taylor finished 3rd with a new PR time of 16:34! The girls team won the Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division for the 2nd year in a row! All 5 of the girls earned All-Conference honors! Page Mushaney finished 9th, Kaitlynn Townsend finished 8th, Tania Rivas finished 7th, Ashley Merrell finished 6th, and August Ross is the Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division 2022 champion with a 1st place finish and a new PR time of 22:03! D and D Club Do you enjoy Stranger Things? Would you like to battle Vecna and the Mindslayer? Join the opportunity to build your own legend and embark on adventures Monday, October 17th in Mrs. Simmons’ room, from 3p.m. to 4:30p.m., for an introductory meeting. High School Cross Country : Congratulations to the high school cross country team for their great races this past Saturday at Benton. Many PRs were set on what was a very unique course. PRs were set by Marley Lambert, Gavin Calhoun, Chris Sacayon, and Ashley Merrell. Peter Taylor broke into the top 25 to be a finalist. The team is looking forward to the post season which begins this upcoming Saturday at the Conference meet in Salem, IL.

Volleyball: JV dominated and won in 2 sets and varsity pulled off a comeback win in the 3rd game! Every runner earned a new personal best! Peter Taylor and Chris Sacayon earned medals on the boys side for their 7th and 20th place finishes. And August Ross earned a medal on the girls side for her 19th place finish! Congratulations to the team for all their great races!!
