Students in Mrs. Dougherty's and Mr. Grapperhaus' classes are banding together to make two teams to learn gardening skills. Each day we will look at the height of our plant, temperature, how many days it has grown for, and which plant it is. Today they mixed their soil, and started their seeds with water, a paper towel, and a Ziplock baggie. Stayed tuned for what the planers will look like and which team's plants reach the tallest height.

College presentations have begun for our juniors and seniors! Today, we welcomed McKendree University. Students learned about what majors are offered, general cost, and a little about dorm life. Some even signed up to take a tour, which comes with the perk of seeing a college football game!

Getting ready
Say hi to the Dupo Tiger!

FLL's (First Lego League) inaugural season has started with building models, testing different robot designs, and codes to get the robot to complete the mission tasks. Both the coaches and students learn something new each meeting and love the challenge of trying something new.

In Mrs. Dougherty's and Mr. G's class they have been learning about the maps in geography. They were tasked with making a map of a park with the required objects like trees, a pool, playground, and more. They had to use spatial reasoning to make sure everything would fit. I think their parks could make a great addition to any city.

Dupo High School students and parents! We are excited to share that we now have a College and Career page on the school website! If you click on Support Services, you will see the new link, which has helpful tips/sites by grade, as well as information on scholarships, FAFSA, military, trade schools, apprenticeships, and the ACT. This will continue to be updated, so feel free to check back often. Happy exploring!
